Description

This One-Pot Cheesy Beef and Shells is a quick and easy comfort food dish that’s perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal. It features tender pasta, ground beef, and a creamy cheese sauce, all cooked together in one pot for convenience.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups uncooked medium shell pasta
  • 8 ounces Velveeta cheese, cubed
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Brown Beef and Sauté Onions: In a Dutch oven or large pot, brown ground beef and onions over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Add Flavorings: Stir in tomato paste, garlic powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  • Add Liquids and Pasta: Pour in beef broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then add pasta.
  • Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 12-13 minutes.
  • Stir in Cheese: Remove from heat and stir in Velveeta cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve: Let sit for a couple of minutes to allow the sauce to thicken, then serve hot.

Notes

  • Servings: This recipe serves 4-6 people, depending on portion size.
  • Cheese: You can substitute Velveeta with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Liquid: Add more broth or water if the mixture becomes too thick during cooking.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
