Tender salmon pieces are seasoned with spices, baked to perfection, and then tossed in a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze. Serve them with rice and your favorite sides for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 pounds salmon fillet with skin on or off, cut into 1-2 inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup hot honey

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oven and Baking Sheet:
    1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
    2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Season Salmon:
    1. In a large bowl, add the salmon pieces.
    2. Drizzle with olive oil and gently stir to coat using a spoon.
    3. Sprinkle with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
    4. Stir gently again until evenly coated.
  3. Bake Salmon:
    1. Transfer the salmon to the prepared baking sheet and arrange in a single layer, ensuring the pieces are not touching each other.
    2. Bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Add Hot Honey and Broil:
    1. Remove the baking sheet from the oven.
    2. Move the salmon pieces into a single pile with a spatula.
    3. Drizzle with hot honey and carefully stir to coat.
    4. Spread the salmon pieces back into a single layer.
    5. Broil until golden brown. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  5. Serve:
    1. Remove from the oven.
    2. Serve hot with rice, avocado, cucumbers, and drizzled with more honey, if desired.

Notes

  • Store: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Warm up in the microwave. Reheating in the oven is not recommended as it may dry out the salmon.
  • Freeze: Freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey to your preference for sweetness and spice.
  • For extra crispiness, you can broil the salmon for a few minutes before adding the hot honey.
  • Use a good quality hot honey for the best flavor.
  • If you don’t have hot honey, you can make your own by mixing regular honey with a dash of hot sauce.
