Description

This Hawaiian Pizza is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that’s perfect for a quick weeknight meal or a fun gathering. It features a classic combination of sweet pineapple, savory ham and bacon, and melted mozzarella cheese on a crispy crust.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/3 portion pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cooked ham, cubed
  • 1/2 cup fresh pineapple, cubed
  • 1/2 cup sliced shiitake mushrooms (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • Ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
  • Assemble Pizza: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Place the dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then arrange the bacon, ham, pineapple, and mushrooms (if using) on top.
  • Bake: Bake for 10 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh basil, and season with black pepper to taste. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Pineapple: Reduce the amount of pineapple for a less sweet pizza. Use fresh pineapple for the best flavor.
  • Spice: Sprinkle with red pepper flakes before baking for a spicy kick.
  • Make Ahead: Prepare the pizza dough and toppings ahead of time. Assemble and bake just before serving.
  • Variations:
    • Add other toppings, such as bell peppers, onions, or jalapenos.
    • Use a different type of cheese, such as provolone or Monterey Jack.
    • Drizzle with a balsamic glaze after baking for a tangy twist.
