Scale
- 1/3 portion pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup cooked ham, cubed
- 1/2 cup fresh pineapple, cubed
- 1/2 cup sliced shiitake mushrooms (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- Ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
- Assemble Pizza: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Place the dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then arrange the bacon, ham, pineapple, and mushrooms (if using) on top.
- Bake: Bake for 10 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh basil, and season with black pepper to taste. Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- Pineapple: Reduce the amount of pineapple for a less sweet pizza. Use fresh pineapple for the best flavor.
- Spice: Sprinkle with red pepper flakes before baking for a spicy kick.
- Make Ahead: Prepare the pizza dough and toppings ahead of time. Assemble and bake just before serving.
- Variations:
- Add other toppings, such as bell peppers, onions, or jalapenos.
- Use a different type of cheese, such as provolone or Monterey Jack.
- Drizzle with a balsamic glaze after baking for a tangy twist.
