Description

This French Dip Biscuit Bake is a fun and easy way to enjoy the classic flavors of a French Dip sandwich in a shareable, baked form. Flaky biscuits are filled with tender shredded beef and melty provolone cheese, then baked to golden perfection. Served with warm au jus for dipping, it’s a perfect appetizer, game day snack, or casual dinner.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz. can Pillsbury biscuit dough
  • 8 oz. provolone cheese slices
  • 1 1/2 lbs. Hormel beef roast (for au jus and shredded beef)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare Beef Roast:
    1. Add your beef roast to a Crock-Pot on high to heat the shredded beef and au jus.
  2. Preheat Oven and Prepare Tray:
    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    2. Prepare a 9×13 inch tray.
  3. Make Garlic Butter:
    1. Mix together the melted butter and garlic powder with a pastry brush.
    2. Set aside.
  4. Bake Biscuits:
    1. Bake the biscuits evenly spaced in the 9×13 tray after brushing each with the garlic butter.
    2. Bake until golden brown.
  5. Assemble Biscuits:
    1. When biscuits are done, cut them in half with a paring knife.
    2. Top biscuits with shredded beef.
    3. Top with provolone cheese slices.
  6. Bake Again:
    1. Bake biscuits until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Serve:
    1. Place biscuit tops on and enjoy with the au jus from the Crock-Pot for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use your favorite brand of biscuit dough.
  • Adjust the amount of beef and cheese to your preference.
  • For a spicier version, add pepper jack cheese or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
  • If you don’t have a Crock-Pot, you can heat the beef and au jus on the stovetop.
  • Serve with a side salad or other appetizers for a complete meal.
