Description

This Firecracker Chicken is a quick and easy recipe that’s perfect for a flavorful and fiery weeknight meal. Chicken breasts are coated in a spicy sauce and baked to juicy perfection in the oven.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 1/2 lbs)

Firecracker Sauce:

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Sriracha)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Optional Garnish:

  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat and Make Sauce: Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). In a bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients.
  • Coat Chicken: Place chicken breasts in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Pour half of the sauce over the chicken and spread evenly. Flip chicken and repeat with remaining sauce.
  • Bake: Bake uncovered for 18-25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 165-170°F.
  • Rest and Serve: Remove chicken from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving with your favorite side dish.

Notes

  • Chicken: Use chicken thighs or drumsticks, adjusting cooking time as needed.
