Description

These Fire Crackers are a spicy, savory snack that’s perfect for parties, game days, or just snacking. Saltine crackers are infused with a flavorful blend of ranch seasoning, Italian herbs, and fiery red pepper flakes, creating a crunchy and addictive treat. They’re incredibly easy to make and require minimal effort for maximum flavor!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup olive oil or avocado oil
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ranch seasoning (or 1 packet)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
  • 16 ounces saltine crackers

Instructions

  1. Combine Seasonings and Oil: Add the 1 cup olive oil (or avocado oil), 2 ½ tablespoons ranch seasoning, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, and 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes to a gallon ziplock bag. Close the bag tightly and mix everything together.
  2. Add Crackers: Add the 16 ounces saltine crackers to the bag and close it tightly.
  3. Coat Crackers: Shake the bag around and flip it from back to front and back again several times until all the crackers have been coated in the oil and seasoning mixture.
  4. Marinate: Let the bag sit for at least 8 hours, flipping it over multiple times throughout to help distribute any settled oil.
  5. Serve or Bake (Optional): You can serve the crackers straight from the bag. Alternatively, you can spread them out in a single layer on a few parchment-lined baking sheets and bake them at 250°F (120°C) for 10-15 minutes for extra crispiness.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the spice level.
  • Use different seasoning blends for variety, such as Cajun seasoning or garlic parmesan.
  • Ensure the ziplock bag is tightly sealed to prevent leaks.
  • Flipping the bag regularly during the marinating process ensures even coating.
  • Baking the crackers after marinating adds extra crispiness and helps the flavors meld further.
  • 1 serving is about 7 crackers.
  • Store in an airtight container for maximum freshness.
