			Batter:
- 1/4 cup butter
 - 1/2 cup flour
 - 1 cup sugar (divided)
 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
 - 1/3 cup milk
 - 1 egg
 - 1/4 tsp vanilla
 
Filling:
- 2 cups peeled peaches (if frozen, thaw and drain juice)
 - 1/3 cup sugar
 - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
 - 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
 - 1/4 cup brown sugar
 
Serving:
- Ice cream for serving (optional)
 
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Place butter in a 9-inch glass dish and melt in the oven.
 - Mix flour, 2/3 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add milk and egg, stir to combine. Pour batter over melted butter in the dish – DO NOT STIR.
 - In a separate bowl, combine peaches, 1/3 cup sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spoon peaches over the batter – DO NOT STIR.
 - Sprinkle brown sugar over the top.
 - Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown. Finish under the broiler for extra crispness. Serve warm with ice cream.
