Description

This easy Monkey Bread recipe uses Grands Cinnamon Rolls for a quick, sweet, and gooey pull-apart treat. Featuring a caramelized brown sugar-butter sauce and a cinnamon-sugar coating, it’s perfect for a shareable breakfast or dessert, ready in just 40 minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cans Grands Cinnamon Rolls (with icing, optional for topping)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the monkey bread.
  2. Prepare the Pan: Lightly grease a cake or fluted bundt pan to prevent sticking and make it easy to remove the bread.
  3. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: Add the 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon to a large Ziploc bag. Shake to combine evenly.
  4. Prepare the Dough: Separate the cinnamon roll dough and cut each roll into quarters so you have evenly sized dough pieces for coating and baking.
  5. Coat the Dough: Place the quartered dough pieces in the cinnamon sugar bag, seal, and shake until all pieces are coated well.
  6. Arrange in Pan: Remove the coated pieces and arrange them evenly in the prepared pan, layering as needed.
  7. Make Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the firmly packed brown sugar and melted butter until well combined. Pour this mixture evenly over the arranged dough pieces in the pan.
  8. Bake: Bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until the monkey bread is golden brown and no longer doughy in the center.
  9. Cool and Invert: Remove from oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then turn the pan upside down onto a serving plate to release the bread.
  10. Serve: Pull apart to serve while warm. Optionally, drizzle the reserved icing from the cinnamon roll cans over the top before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle chopped nuts or raisins between layers.
  • To ensure the bread is cooked through, check the thickest parts for doneness before removing from oven.
  • Best served warm for optimal gooeyness.
  • You can prepare the night before and bake fresh in the morning.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container; reheat before serving for best texture.
