Additional Ingredients and Equipment
- small box lemon Jell-O (for initial measure, as per recipe)
- small box orange Jell-O (as above)
- small can sweetened condensed milk
- 4 envelopes Knox Gelatin (one small box total)
- 3 cups Pinnacle Whipped Vodka (total divided by layers)
- 2 loaf pans
- Cooking spray (for greasing pans)
Instructions
- Make white layer: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water and 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk. Whisk together until smooth. Sprinkle 2 envelopes of Knox gelatin over the mixture and let sit for 1 minute to bloom. Heat over medium heat, stirring until gelatin dissolves completely and mixture is smooth, about 2 minutes—do not boil. The mixture should feel smooth to the touch without graininess. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup Pinnacle Whipped Vodka.
- Set white layer: Lightly grease two loaf pans with cooking spray. Divide the white layer mixture evenly, pouring 1 cup into each loaf pan. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until the layer is slightly firm but still sticky to touch.
- Make orange layer: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water, the small box of orange Jell-O, and 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk. Whisk until combined. Sprinkle 1 envelope Knox gelatin over mixture and let sit for 1 minute to activate. Heat over medium, stirring constantly until gelatin dissolves and mixture is smooth, about 2 minutes without boiling. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup Pinnacle Whipped Vodka. Whisk well to prevent separation.
- Set orange layer: Carefully pour 1 cup of the orange layer mixture on top of the white layer in each loaf pan. Return to refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until this layer is slightly firm but still sticky.
- Make yellow layer: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water, the small box lemon Jell-O, and 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk. Whisk until combined. Sprinkle 1 envelope Knox gelatin over the mixture and let sit for 1 minute. Heat over medium, stirring until the gelatin has dissolved and mixture is smooth, about 2 minutes, without boiling. Remove from heat and whisk in 1 cup Pinnacle Whipped Vodka.
- Set yellow layer: Carefully pour 1 cup of the yellow layer mixture onto the orange layer in each loaf pan. Refrigerate until fully set and firm, at least 3 hours.
- Unmold jello shots: To release the gelatin from the pans, dip the bottoms of the loaf pans in a small puddle of very hot water for about 30 seconds. Run a butter knife gently around the edges to loosen. Flip the pan over onto your hand or a cutting board to release the jello slabs.
- Slice and serve: Cut the loaf-shaped layered gelatin into slices like bread. Then cut those slices diagonally into triangles resembling candy corn pieces. Serve chilled and enjoy responsibly.
Notes
- Use Pinnacle Whipped Vodka for best flavor and consistency.
- Do not boil the gelatin mixtures to ensure proper setting and texture.
- Let each layer set until just firm but still sticky to ensure good adhesion between layers.
- Chilling overnight will give the best firmness and ease of slicing.
- Run a warm knife around edges if gelatin sticks to the pan.
- These jello shots contain alcohol and are intended for responsible adult consumption only.
