Description

These Easy Baked Apples are a simple and comforting dessert or side dish that’s perfect for fall. Tender apples are tossed in a buttery cinnamon sauce and baked to perfection. This recipe is quick to prepare and a delicious way to enjoy the flavors of the season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 apples (roughly 4 cups), chopped into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare Apples: Place the chopped apples in a small baking dish (8×11 inch).
  • Make Cinnamon Sauce: In a small bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the cinnamon, brown sugar, salt, and lemon juice until smooth.
  • Combine and Bake: Pour the cinnamon sauce over the apples and toss until evenly coated. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and slightly browned.

Notes

  • You can use any variety of apples you like, but firm, tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well.
  • For a sweeter dish, increase the amount of brown sugar.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice to the cinnamon sauce for extra flavor.
  • Serve these baked apples warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
