Description

This Easter Puppy Chow is a festive twist on the classic treat! It combines crunchy Chex Mix cereal, creamy peanut butter, and sweet white chocolate that’s coated in powdered sugar for a deliciously addicting snack. Fun pastel M&Ms add a pop of color and a touch of Easter magic. Perfect for springtime gatherings, parties, or as a quick no-bake treat to enjoy at home.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 9 cups Chex Mix Cereal
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Coating and Add-ins

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 onegallon ziplock bags
  • 1 1/2 cups pastel M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate and Peanut Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips, peanut butter, and vegetable oil. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir well and continue cooking in 15-second intervals until the mixture is smooth and fully melted. This should take about 60 seconds in total.
  2. Mix with Cereal
Place the Chex Mix cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal. Stir immediately and thoroughly to coat all the cereal pieces evenly.
  3. Coat in Powdered Sugar
Divide the powdered sugar in half, with each half going into a separate one-gallon ziplock bag. Take half of the coated cereal and place it in the first bag. Seal the bag tightly and shake vigorously until the cereal is evenly coated in powdered sugar. Repeat this process with the remaining powdered sugar, cereal, and the second bag.
  4. Cool and Add Decorations
Spread the powdered sugar-coated cereal onto a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. Let it cool and set completely. Once cooled, sprinkle the pastel M&Ms over the top and gently stir everything together to combine.
  5. Store and Enjoy
Transfer the Easter Puppy Chow to an airtight container and enjoy for up to one week. If your kitchen is warm, store it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.

Notes

  • For optimal freshness, store the puppy chow in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to one week.
  • If your kitchen is warm, keeping it in the refrigerator will prevent the candy coating from melting.
  • Feel free to switch pastel M&Ms with other holiday-themed candy for different occasions.
