Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients
Make Rice Krispie treats in four separate batches, one for each color of the Easter eggs (pink, purple, yellow, and blue). Gather all ingredients and set up your workspace. - Melt the Butter and Marshmallows
In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt 3 tablespoons of butter in the microwave. Add 5 cups of mini marshmallows to the melted butter and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth. - Add the Food Coloring
Add a few drops of pink food coloring to the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir until the color is evenly distributed. - Combine with Rice Krispies Cereal
Stir in 4 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture. Mix thoroughly until the cereal is fully coated. Spread the mixture evenly in a prepared pan. - Repeat the Process
Repeat the above steps three more times to create batches with the purple, yellow, and blue food coloring. - Shape the Rice Krispie Eggs
Allow the mixture in each color batch to cool slightly so they are easier to work with. Grab a handful of the Rice Krispie mixture and use your hands to mold it into an egg shape. Repeat with all remaining mixtures. - Let the Eggs Cool and Set
Allow the Rice Krispie Easter Eggs to cool completely before serving. - Enjoy!
Once fully set, serve, and enjoy the festive, colorful treats with friends and family.
Notes
- Be sure to work quickly when molding the mixture into eggs as it sets as it cools.
- Keep a small bowl of water nearby to lightly dampen your hands; this helps to prevent sticking while forming the eggs.
- Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.
- For additional decoration, you can drizzle the eggs with melted chocolate or sprinkle with colored sugar for extra flair.
