Ingredients

Units Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Softened Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour

Add-ins

  • 1 Bag Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chips
  • Wilton Color Right Food Coloring (yellow, pink, purple, and blue)

Instructions

  1. Cream the Butter and Sugars
In a mixer, cream the softened butter, packed brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Incorporate Wet Ingredients
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture. Continue mixing until the batter becomes fluffy and well combined.
  3. Mix in Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the baking soda and salt while mixing. Then incorporate the all-purpose flour a little at a time, ensuring the dough is fully combined and smooth.
  4. Divide Dough and Color
Divide the cookie dough into four equal portions. Next, add a few drops of food coloring to make one portion yellow, one pink, one purple, and one blue. Mix each portion thoroughly to achieve vibrant and even colors.
  5. Add Chocolate Chips
Fold Nestle Toll House chocolate chips into each colored portion to evenly distribute the chocolate.
  6. Form Cookie Dough Balls
Take small portions of each of the colored doughs and combine them to form a 2 oz. cookie dough ball. Slightly press down each ball onto a prepared cookie sheet to flatten slightly.
  7. Bake the Cookies
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown around the edges. Keep an eye to prevent overbaking.

Notes

  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. This helps them set without breaking apart.
  • Use gel-based food coloring for more vibrant colors without altering the dough’s consistency.
  • For extra Easter flair, consider adding pastel-colored chocolate chips or festive sprinkles.
