Description

This Creamy Honey Mustard Chicken is a quick and easy recipe that’s perfect for a delicious weeknight meal. Tender chicken cutlets are pan-fried until golden brown and then coated in a luscious creamy honey mustard sauce.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in half lengthwise
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • All-purpose flour, for dredging
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Prepare Chicken: Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create thinner cutlets. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge in flour, shaking off any excess.
  • Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken cutlets and cook until golden brown on each side. Remove chicken and set aside.
  • Make Sauce: Add remaining butter, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, and honey to the skillet. Stir until the mustard is dissolved and the sauce is bubbling.
  • Add Cream and Simmer: Pour in heavy cream and bring back to a simmer. Return chicken to the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens and the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
  • Serve: Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as rice, mashed potatoes, or vegetables.

Notes

  • Chicken: Use large chicken breasts or adjust cooking time if using smaller ones.
  • Salt: This recipe is moderately salty. Use low-sodium broth if you prefer less salt.
  • Serving Suggestions: This dish pairs well with a variety of sides, such as steamed vegetables, roasted potatoes, or a simple salad.
