Description

These Cranberry Turkey Sliders combine tender oven-roasted turkey, tangy whole berry cranberry sauce, and melty gouda and cheddar cheeses, all nestled between soft Hawaiian sweet rolls. Brushed with a flavorful butter, chive, and poppy seed mixture, then baked to golden perfection, these sliders are an irresistible handheld treat perfect for holidays, game days, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Sliders

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 bag Hawaiian sweet rolls (12 count)
  • 1 lb. deli-style, oven-roasted turkey or Thanksgiving turkey leftovers, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 4 oz. gouda, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz. mild cheddar, thinly sliced

Butter Topping

  • 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 Tbsp. sliced chives, plus more for serving
  • 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spray a 13″ x 9″ baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Slice Rolls and Add Fillings: Place the Hawaiian rolls on a cutting board still attached. Using a long bread knife, carefully cut horizontally in half parallel to the cutting board, leaving the rolls connected. Set the tops aside. Evenly spread the sliced turkey over the bottom halves, then spread the whole berry cranberry sauce over the turkey. Layer the sliced gouda and cheddar cheeses over the cranberry sauce. Close the sliders by placing the top buns back on.
  3. Prepare Butter Mixture: In a medium heatproof bowl, microwave the softened butter until melted. Stir in sliced chives, poppy seeds, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  4. Brush Sliders and Sprinkle Toppings: Using a pastry brush, generously brush the butter mixture all over the slider tops. Sprinkle additional poppy seeds on top for extra flavor and texture. Loosely cover the baking dish with foil to keep moisture in while baking.
  5. Bake the Sliders: Bake the covered sliders in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown and the cheese has melted thoroughly.
  6. Serve: Transfer the sliders to a serving platter and garnish with additional chives before serving.

Notes

  • Use leftover Thanksgiving turkey or any deli-style oven-roasted turkey for convenience.
  • If you prefer, substitute gouda and cheddar with your favorite cheeses like mozzarella or fontina.
  • Whole berry cranberry sauce adds texture and sweetness—use your preferred cranberry sauce variety.
  • For extra crisp tops, uncover during the last 10-15 minutes of baking.
  • These sliders are perfect for parties and can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving.
