- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Flavor Variations (Choose one):
- Ham & Swiss: 1/4 cup diced deli ham, 1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese
- Garlic & Parmesan: 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Bacon & Cheddar: 1/4 cup crumbled cooked bacon, 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- Gruyere & Chives: 1/2 cup grated Gruyere cheese, 2 tablespoons chopped chives
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Separate Eggs: Separate the egg whites and yolks, placing the whites in a large bowl and the yolks in individual small bowls (or one bowl if you’re careful).
- Whip Egg Whites: Using a hand mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in Seasonings and Toppings: Gently fold in salt, pepper, and your chosen flavor variation ingredients (if using).
- Create Clouds: Spoon the egg white mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 4 mounds with wells in the center for the yolks.
- Bake: Bake for 3 minutes, then carefully place a yolk in each well. Bake for another 2-3 minutes, or until the yolks are set to your liking.
Notes
- Baking Time: Adjust baking time based on your preferred yolk consistency. For runny yolks, bake for a shorter time. For more well-done yolks, bake longer.
