Description

These Chocolate Christmas Tree Cake Truffles are a festive and delicious treat made with Little Debbie Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes, dipped in rich melted semi-sweet chocolate and topped with colorful sprinkles and a drizzle of white chocolate. Perfect for holiday celebrations or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

Cake Mixture

  • 1 box Little Debbie Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
  • 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles, plus extra for topping

Coating and Drizzle

  • 1 & 1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips, melted (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Base: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix into Dough: Using a handheld mixer, blend the cakes until they form a crumbly, soft dough. Gently mix in 3 tablespoons of festive sprinkles to add color and texture.
  3. Form Truffles: Using a tablespoon, scoop portions of the dough and roll each between your palms to form smooth balls. Place the truffles onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used.
  4. Melt Semi-Sweet Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
  5. Dip Truffles: Using a dipping fork or regular fork, dip each truffle into the melted semi-sweet chocolate, ensuring an even coating, then return them to the baking sheet.
  6. Melt White Chocolate for Drizzle: Place white chocolate chips into a piping bag or ziplock bag and microwave for 30 seconds. Massage the bag to stir, then microwave for another 30 seconds if necessary until melted smoothly.
  7. Decorate and Set: Snip the tip of the bag and drizzle the melted white chocolate over the coated truffles. Immediately sprinkle more festive sprinkles on top. Chill the truffles in the fridge until the chocolate sets, about 10 minutes.

Notes

  • Ensure the cakes are mixed thoroughly to get smooth truffles that hold their shape.
  • When melting chocolate, avoid overheating to prevent burning or seizing.
  • You can substitute festive sprinkles with crushed nuts or coconut flakes for different textures.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a dairy-free version, use vegan chocolate chips and check cake ingredient labels carefully.
