Description

This Buffalo Chicken Dip is a creamy, spicy, and cheesy appetizer perfect for game days and gatherings. Made with shredded chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, and tangy buffalo sauce, then baked until bubbly and topped with blue cheese dressing, it’s a crowd-pleaser served with chips, baguette slices, or fresh veggies.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
  • 8 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup buffalo sauce (Frank’s Red Hot recommended)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 tablespoons blue cheese dressing or ranch, for garnish

Dippers

  • Fritos Scoops
  • Baguette slices
  • Carrot sticks
  • Celery sticks

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, add the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, sour cream, buffalo sauce, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix thoroughly using a large spatula until well combined and creamy.
  2. Prepare for Baking: Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of a 1.5-quart baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  3. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and starting to lightly brown.
  4. Add Garnish and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and immediately drizzle with blue cheese dressing or ranch as desired. Serve warm with Fritos Scoops, baguette slices, and fresh carrot and celery sticks for dipping. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use cooked chicken from rotisserie, grilled, or boiled according to your preference.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of buffalo sauce based on your heat preference.
  • For a thicker dip, drain excess liquid from the chicken before combining.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • Swap cheddar cheese for pepper jack for a spicier version.
