Description

This creamy and tangy Blue Cheese Sauce is a versatile condiment that’s perfect for dipping, drizzling, or spreading. Made with just a few simple ingredients, it’s ready in minutes and adds a flavorful punch to any dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter (or olive oil)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream (or milk or half and half)
  • 5 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Sauté Garlic: Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  2. Melt Cheese: Reduce heat to low. Stir in mayonnaise, heavy cream (or milk), blue cheese crumbles, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat for 2-3 minutes, mashing the blue cheese with a spoon to help it melt. Be careful not to overheat, or the sauce may separate.
  3. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Season with black pepper to taste. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use your favorite type of blue cheese.
  • For a milder flavor, use less blue cheese or substitute with cream cheese or goat cheese.
  • If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a bit of milk or cream.
