- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
For the Lemonade:
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup lemon juice
Instructions
- Make the Blackberry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with the sugar and blackberries. Bring to a gentle boil, smashing the berries to release their juice. Cook for 2-3 minutes until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- Strain the syrup: Using a fine strainer or cheesecloth, strain the syrup into a large pitcher to remove seeds. Discard the seeds.
- Finish the Lemonade: Stir in lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of water. Chill and serve over ice.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the syrup.
- For a more intense flavor, let the blackberries macerate in the syrup for a few hours before straining.
